ABBEY K (MR A K MIRZA) INDIAN MUSIC |
|
Background I have had a tremendous interest in music since I was a teenager. In fact my enthusiasm and eagerness has been to the extent of intense passion. At the age of seventeen I took training at Watford School Of Music and had the privilege to gain knowledge and experience from Mrs Ann Bright who was an excellent music teacher. Later on I joined the Watford Operatic Music Society in order to fulfill my desire. Due to my keen interest in music, I was inclined towards Asian music, in particular the music of the Indian sub-continent and ultimately in 1983, I sang on stage as a solo artist. This activity helped me to expand and enhance my knowledge and experience. In addition to the aforesaid, I approached a well known Asian music teacher namely Mr Sulheria who currently lives in London, with a view to further my knowledge and this process has certainly helped me to improve the basics in music in a comprehensive way. I have mastered the technique of mixing the Jazz music into classical Indian music as well as mixing pop music into the modern Indian film music and folk music.
